Max Recovery Limited demonstrates immense compassion

Page last updated Monday, 11 May 2009

I have a client that was being perused for over £7000, and as a great start to the week - Max Recovery instructed Eversheds (their solicitors) to withdraw and no longer pursue my client for the debt!

Without giving away too much, a young mother suffered financial difficulties when her 4 year old son became ill; his care needs meant the father gave up work to become his full time carer. This dramatic loss of income was addition to a failed business venture of hers as a result of 9/11.

She was advised by another firm that her only option was to go bankrupt. Although there are only two creditors (Max Recovery and LloydsTSB), I felt their actions were morally wrong and only adding to the pressures of an already very stressed family.

As a father three myself it really struck a chord so we waived any charges from our side. The battle started in October 2008, when I first made contact, and I am very pleased to say that after eight months a creditor saw common sense and agreed to end the matter, so this is one down, one more to go. and I’ve not charged for the work.

So, well done to Max Recovery for demonstrating compassion and understanding during a difficult time for my client. It is all to easy to criticise creditors, more so in this current economic climate, so let's give praise where it is due as in this example.

On a final and very sad note - two weeks ago their son lost the battle with his illness and passed away. Max Recovery weren’t aware of this and it didn’t affect their decision.

I have a trust deed which has been running for over 3 years now.there is still just over 30 thousand outstanding to pay it off in full.Have tried to re mortgage but being in a trust makes it impossible.Trust deed say there is enough equity in my house so are pushing to get the balance paid.Could I contact max recovery and work out a payment plan to pay off the outstanding amount to them, as to clear the debt is my priority and I am facing my problem rather than running away.Selling my house for me would be the worst option as with a £130000 mortgage, plus looking for another £30000 the house is valued at £170000 so after fees etc there will not be much left.Does max recovery enter into such agreements ?,trust deed for me seems imposible to get rid of.Hope you can help.
