Police Welfare Conference
Been quiet on the blog as I have been away for three days at the National Association of Police Welfare Officers AGM and training event. Really informative and rewarding and such a worthwhile event, did a presentation to around 70 Police Welfare officers on the ‘six options’ on getting out of debt and advised on bankruptcy and whether a Police Officer can go bankrupt and still keep his/her job. In majority of cases they do but they need to follow a certain procedure within their force.
BBA Banking Code
Listened to Angela Knight, CEO British Bankers Association, yesterday afternoon on Radio 5 live, spoke positively on how the banks will turn matters around and that they need to work hard at regaining the trust from consumers. A good start would be to get your members to behave in a more professional manner Ms Knight by making them adhere to their ‘banking code’, in particular
page 25, and treat consumers in a sympathetic or positive manner? This I feel will be my next challenge.
BBC Essex
Did a great show last night with John Hayes on BBC Essex, we spoke about the pros and cons of Individual Voluntary Arrangements often referred to as IVA. Catch it on BBC iPlayer (it was on Drivetime just after 6pm, Wednesday 20th May). This will only be on the BBC iPlayer for 7 days after this go to our media page for the show and any others that may interest you. Next Wednesday, 27th, it will be on bankruptcy.
