Gym membership fees - SunTalk & LBC shows

Page last updated Monday, 14 September 2009

Just done two great shows over the past few days, first was with Jon Gaunt at SunTalk on Friday taking phone calls, texts and emails from listeners on how to deal with harassment from lenders. This was a cracking show with plenty of different calls including Jon's own problem when he got chased for an alleged debt whilst he was on holiday. SunTalk have created a separate pod cast of my part on the show.

The other show was a 'debt clinic' for London with James Max on LBC. Here I advised on how to deal with old debts that are statute barred, Payment Protection Insurance (PPI),  update on the bank charges case and answers calls, texts and emails. This was another fascinating debt clinic! You can listen to the show by signing up to the LBC pod cast then look for the title 'Boris calls home'. Strange title? He was on before me, calling from New York so I had to sit it out!

I am currently working on ‘Gym membership fees’. This is looking like a big problem for consumers because of the way debt recovery firms are bullying and intimidating consumers to cough up money when they stop their membership.

I will soon have several template letters on the website on how to deal with this.  You can read on how the OFT have sorted out Total Fitness on their consumer contracts here.
