Many individuals in debt are often subject to unnecessary harassment by lenders so it is important that you know your rights and how to deal with over zealous debt collection agencies.
Below we have three very good links which will help you understand your consumer rights;
Office of Fair Trading (OFT) Debt Collection Guidelines
This is expected to be reviewed this year (2010) and any changes will updated on this page or sign up to become a member and receive notification through our fortnightly news letters.
Credit Services Association (CSA) Debt Collection Guidelines
The Credit Services Association (CSA) is the only National Association in the UK for companies active in relation to unpaid credit accounts; debt recovery agencies, tracing and allied professional services and has a history dating back to 1902. They also have to work under the Office of Fair Trading Debt Recovery Guidelines. Check Credit Services Associations (CSA) List of Members
