Time line

Mike opens the show commenting on news from the British Bankers' Association that consumers are increasing borrowing at the fastest pace since 2006, Mike looks into the figures for credit card debt, overdrafts and unsecured loans and discusses with Clive some of the reasons for the rise in consumer borrowing and shares his concerns he has on the ability of some of these borrower actually being able to repay their debts.

36.40 Call 6 Dave in Byfleet wanted to know his options after discovering he owed his bank over £1,200 in unpaid bank account monthly fees. 

40.44 Call 7 Sean in East Ham has been in a debt management plan (dmp) paying £130 pcm since 2010, for a total debt of £45,000 and wanted to know if could use his recently gained £4,000 award to pay off some of the larger creditors.
